Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Aït Benhaddou – Ouarzazate

6 days Sahara desert tour from Marrakech: We’ll begin our journey with a scenic drive through the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260m). You’ll marvel at panoramic views of Berber villages and valleys. Together, we’ll explore the UNESCO-listed Aït Benhaddou, a historic ksar known for its traditional kasbahs. After lunch, we’ll continue to Ouarzazate, where you can visit the Taourirt Kasbah or relax in the town. Tonight, we’ll stay in a riad or hotel in Ouarzazate, where dinner is included.

Day 2: Ouarzazate – Skoura – Dades Valley

After breakfast, we’ll visit the beautiful Skoura Oasis, known for its palm groves and the iconic Amridil Kasbah. As we continue, you’ll see the fragrant Valley of Roses, famous for its rose festival. Our journey will lead us to the Dades Valley, where we’ll explore the breathtaking Dades Gorges with their dramatic rock formations. You’ll enjoy an evening in a guesthouse, where we’ll share dinner and stories.

Day 3: Dades Valley – Todra Gorge – Merzouga Desert (Erg Chebbi Dunes)

We’ll start the day with breakfast before heading to the spectacular Todra Gorge, where you can take a walk along its towering cliffs. Then, we’ll travel through Berber villages and scenic landscapes on our way to Merzouga, the gateway to the Erg Chebbi dunes. In the afternoon, you’ll join a camel trek and watch the sunset over the golden dunes. Tonight, we’ll gather around a campfire in a traditional desert camp, enjoying a Moroccan dinner, Berber music, and stargazing.

Day 4: Merzouga – Khamlia – Rissani – Erg Chebbi Exploration

Together, we’ll wake early to witness a spectacular sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, we’ll return to Merzouga by camel and explore the surrounding areas. You’ll visit Khamlia, known for its Gnawa music and cultural heritage, and explore the lively Rissani souk, rich with traditional goods. In the afternoon, we’ll discover more of the Erg Chebbi dunes, with optional activities like sandboarding or quad biking. Tonight, we’ll share another meal and stories in a desert camp or hotel.

Day 5: Merzouga – Alnif – Draa Valley – Agdez

After breakfast, we’ll leave the desert behind and travel through Alnif, a small desert town, to the stunning Draa Valley, lined with palm groves and dotted with ancient kasbahs. You’ll enjoy stops for photos and relaxation along the way. Our day ends in the peaceful town of Agdez, where we’ll stay in a charming guesthouse and share a delicious dinner.

Day 6: Agdez – Ouarzazate – High Atlas Mountains – Marrakech

We’ll start our final day with a visit to the historic Kasbah Tamnougalt near Agdez, a beautiful site showcasing Berber culture. From here, we’ll head back to Ouarzazate for a break or lunch. Together, we’ll retrace our route through the High Atlas Mountains, arriving back in Marrakech by late afternoon. End of our 6 days Sahara desert tour from Marrakech.
