Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Aït Benhaddou – Dades Valley

5 days Sahara Desert Tour from Marrakech departure: Start your journey with a scenic drive through the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the winding Tizi n’Tichka Pass at 2,260m. Stop to admire panoramic views of Berber villages and lush valleys. Visit the UNESCO-listed Aït Benhaddou Kasbah, a historic fortified village and filming location for numerous movies. After lunch, continue to Ouarzazate, where you can explore the Taourirt Kasbah. Travel through the Valley of Roses, famous for its rose festival, before reaching the Dades Valley. Spend the night in a guesthouse, with dinner included.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorge – Merzouga (Erg Chebbi Desert)

After breakfast, explore the fascinating rock formations of the Dades Gorges. Travel through Berber villages to the breathtaking Todra Gorge, a canyon with 300-meter-high limestone cliffs. After a short walk in the gorge, continue toward the Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzouga. Arrive in the afternoon and embark on a camel trek into the golden dunes, where you’ll witness a stunning sunset. Spend the night in a traditional desert camp, enjoy a Moroccan dinner, and experience Berber music and stargazing under the clear desert sky.

Day 3: Merzouga – Khamlia – Rissani – Erg Chebbi Dunes Exploration

Begin the day with a mesmerizing sunrise over the dunes, followed by breakfast at the camp. Return to Merzouga on camels and explore the region, starting with the village of Khamlia, known for its Gnawa music and culture. Visit Rissani, a historic trading town with vibrant souks and ancient kasbahs. Spend the afternoon exploring the expansive Erg Chebbi dunes, with optional activities like sandboarding or quad biking. Return to your camp or a desert lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Merzouga – Alnif – Draa Valley – Ouarzazate

After breakfast, depart Merzouga and head toward Alnif, a small town surrounded by dramatic desert landscapes. Pass through the Draa Valley, Morocco’s longest river valley, lined with lush palm groves and dotted with historic kasbahs. Stop for photos and enjoy the tranquil scenery. Continue to Agdez and arrive in Ouarzazate by late afternoon. Spend the night in a charming riad or hotel, with dinner included.

Day 5: Ouarzazate – High Atlas Mountains – Marrakech

After breakfast, explore Ouarzazate, including the famous Kasbah Taourirt and, optionally, the Atlas Film Studios, where many Hollywood films were shot. Retrace your route through the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, enjoying stops along the way to appreciate the mountain landscapes.
