Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga (Erg Chebbi Dunes)

5 days Fes to Marrakech Sahara desert tour departure: 
We’ll depart from Fes in the morning, traveling through the scenic Middle Atlas Mountains. Our first stop is Ifrane, nicknamed the “Switzerland of Morocco” for its alpine charm. Next, we’ll visit the Cedar Forest near Azrou, where you can spot Barbary macaque monkeys.
Continuing through the mountains and Berber villages, we’ll reach Midelt, where we’ll stop for lunch. Afterward, travel through the lush Ziz Valley, with its impressive palm groves, and arrive at Merzouga, the gateway to the Erg Chebbi dunes. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in a desert riad or hotel.

Day 2: Merzouga – Erg Chebbi Dunes – Desert Camp

After breakfast, we’ll spend the day exploring the Merzouga region. Visit Khamlia, a village famous for its traditional Gnawa music, and stop by a nomadic Berber camp to learn about their way of life. Take in the breathtaking desert scenery with its vast sand dunes and unique landscapes.

In the late afternoon, you’ll enjoy a camel trek into the Erg Chebbi dunes, arriving at your desert camp in time for sunset. Enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner, live Berber music, and an evening of stargazing. Overnight in a standard or luxury desert camp.

Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley

Start your day with a stunning sunrise over the dunes, followed by breakfast at the camp. Return to Merzouga on camels or by 4×4, and then visit the town of Rissani, known for its vibrant souks and historical significance as a trading hub.

Continue to the spectacular Todra Gorge, where 300-meter-high cliffs create one of Morocco’s most dramatic landscapes. After exploring the gorge, travel to the Dades Valley, known as the “Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs.” Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at a guesthouse or hotel.

Day 4: Dades Valley – Valley of Roses – Ouarzazate – Aït Benhaddou

After breakfast, we’ll drive through the beautiful Dades Valley and the fragrant Valley of Roses, known for its annual rose festival. Arrive in Ouarzazate, where you can visit the Taourirt Kasbah or the famous Atlas Film Studios, a key filming location for Hollywood movies.
Next, explore the UNESCO-listed Aït Benhaddou, a historic ksar and stunning example of Morocco’s earthen architecture. Spend the evening in a charming riad or guesthouse near Aït Benhaddou, where dinner will be served.

Day 5: Aït Benhaddou – High Atlas Mountains – Marrakech

After breakfast, enjoy a guided tour of Aït Benhaddou, learning about its history and cultural significance. Then, we’ll journey through the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the Tizi n’Tichka Pass with breathtaking views and picturesque stops.
