Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Aït Benhaddou – Dades Valley

Our 4 days Marrakech to Fes desert tour departure in the morning, traveling through the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260m), offering spectacular views of Berber villages and valleys. Stop to explore the UNESCO-listed Aït Benhaddou, a historic fortified village known for its unique architecture and use in numerous films. Continue to Ouarzazate, where you can visit the Taourirt Kasbah or enjoy lunch. Drive through the Valley of Roses, renowned for its annual rose festival, before arriving at the Dades Valley. Overnight stay in a guesthouse with dinner included.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorge – Merzouga (Erg Chebbi Dunes)

After breakfast, explore the dramatic Dades Gorges, famous for its rock formations and scenic landscapes. Drive through Berber villages to the stunning Todra Gorge, where you can walk along its towering cliffs. In the afternoon, continue toward Merzouga, passing palm groves and desert landscapes. Arrive at the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes, where you’ll switch to camels for a sunset trek into the desert. Spend the night in a traditional desert camp, enjoying a Moroccan dinner, Berber music, and stargazing under the clear desert sky.

Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Ziz Valley – Midelt

Wake up early to witness a spectacular sunrise over the dunes, followed by breakfast at the camp. Ride camels back to Merzouga, where you’ll continue the journey toward Fes. Visit Rissani, a historic town known for its traditional souks and ancient trading history. Pass through the lush Ziz Valley, with its palm groves and scenic mountain views. Continue to the mountain town of Midelt, nestled between the Middle and High Atlas Mountains, where you’ll stay overnight in a comfortable hotel or guesthouse.

Day 4: Midelt – Cedar Forest – Ifrane – Fes

After breakfast, leave Midelt and travel through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Stop at the Cedar Forest near Azrou to see the Barbary macaque monkeys in their natural habitat. Continue to Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco” for its alpine-style architecture and neat streets. Enjoy a short visit before heading to Fes, where the tour concludes in the late afternoon.
