Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley

Our journey begins with an early departure from Marrakech as we head toward the High Atlas Mountains via the winding Tizi n’Tichka Pass. Along the way, we take in stunning views of the rugged mountain landscapes and traditional Berber villages. Our first major stop is the renowned Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its impressive ksar and its appearances in countless films and series. After exploring this historical marvel, we continue to the city of Ouarzazate, often called the “Hollywood of Morocco.” Here, we visit the Atlas Film Studios and the ancient Taourirt Kasbah. In the afternoon, we pass through the lush Valley of Roses and picturesque Berber towns before arriving at Dades Valley. We end the day with a relaxing evening in a traditional riad or kasbah, surrounded by the beauty of the valley.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorge – Merzouga (Sahara Desert)

We start the day with a visit to the stunning Dades Gorges, where dramatic rock formations create a surreal landscape. After soaking in the views, we head toward the awe-inspiring Todra Gorge. Here, we enjoy a leisurely hike, marveling at the towering cliffs that rise dramatically on either side. As we journey further, the landscape transforms into arid plains leading to Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara Desert. Upon arrival, we trade our vehicle for camels and embark on a memorable trek across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. We witness a breathtaking sunset over the sands before reaching our desert camp. In the evening, we savor a traditional Berber dinner under the stars and enjoy live cultural entertainment around the campfire before retiring to our luxurious tent.

Day 3: Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Midelt – Ifrane – Fes

We begin our final day by witnessing a magical sunrise over the Sahara Desert. After breakfast, we return to Merzouga by camel or 4×4 and set out on a scenic drive through the lush Ziz Valley, renowned for its sprawling palm groves and charming landscapes. We stop in the town of Midelt for lunch before continuing through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Along the way, we admire the cedar forests and look out for Barbary macaques. Our journey then takes us to Ifrane, a picturesque alpine town known for its European-inspired architecture and clean streets. Often called “Little Switzerland,” it offers a striking contrast to the other landscapes we’ve encountered. By evening, we arrive in the ancient city of Fes, marking the end of our incredible 3-day adventure.
