Day 1: Tangier – Chefchaouen

10-Day Sahara Desert Tour from Tangier departure: We’ll begin our journey in Tangier, traveling through the scenic Rif Mountains to reach Chefchaouen, the “Blue City.” Together, we’ll explore its blue-washed medina, vibrant streets, and artisan shops. We’ll enjoy the relaxed mountain atmosphere before settling into a charming riad for the night.

Day 2: Chefchaouen – Meknes – Volubilis – Fes

After breakfast, we’ll head to Meknes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities. Here, we’ll visit the impressive Bab Mansour Gate, Heri es-Souani granaries, and the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum.

Next, we’ll continue to Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where we’ll discover well-preserved Roman ruins and intricate mosaics. By evening, we’ll arrive in Fes, where we’ll have dinner and stay overnight in a traditional riad.

Day 3: Fes Guided Tour

Today, we’ll spend the day exploring the cultural and spiritual heart of Fes. Together with a local guide, we’ll visit the UNESCO-listed Medina, the Al Quaraouiyine University, Bou Inania Madrasa, Chouara Tannery, and the Jewish Quarter (Mellah). We’ll stroll through the vibrant souks, immersing ourselves in the city’s rich history and culture. Dinner and overnight stay in Fes.

Day 4: Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Midelt – Merzouga (Erg Chebbi Dunes)

We’ll leave Fes and travel through the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping in Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco.” Together, we’ll visit the Cedar Forest near Azrou, where we might spot Barbary macaque monkeys.

After lunch in Midelt, we’ll continue through the lush Ziz Valley and its dramatic palm groves before arriving in Merzouga, at the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes. Tonight, we’ll enjoy dinner and rest in a desert riad or hotel.

Day 5: Merzouga – Camel Trek – Desert Camp

After breakfast, we’ll spend the day exploring the magical desert surroundings. We’ll visit Khamlia, a village famous for its Gnawa music, and meet Berber nomads to learn about their way of life. You’ll have the option to join us in sandboarding, quad biking, or a 4×4 tour through the dunes.

In the late afternoon, we’ll embark on a camel trek into the Erg Chebbi dunes, watching the sunset as we head to our desert camp. Together, we’ll enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner, Berber drumming, and a star-filled night in the Sahara. Overnight in a standard or luxury desert camp.

Day 6: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley

We’ll wake up early to witness a magical sunrise over the dunes, followed by breakfast at the camp. After returning to Merzouga by camel or 4×4, we’ll visit Rissani, known for its bustling souks and historical significance.

Continuing on, we’ll explore the stunning Todra Gorge, where towering limestone cliffs frame a serene river. By evening, we’ll arrive in the Dades Valley, where we’ll have dinner and stay overnight in a guesthouse or hotel.

Day 7: Dades Valley – Valley of Roses – Ouarzazate – Aït Benhaddou

Today, we’ll travel through the beautiful Dades Valley and the fragrant Valley of Roses, famous for its rosewater products. We’ll stop in Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood of Morocco,” where we’ll visit the Taourirt Kasbah or the Atlas Film Studios.

Later, we’ll explore the UNESCO-listed Aït Benhaddou, a historic ksar and iconic filming location. Together, we’ll enjoy dinner and stay overnight in a riad near Aït Benhaddou.

Day 8: Aït Benhaddou – High Atlas Mountains – Marrakech

After breakfast, we’ll take a guided tour of Aït Benhaddou, learning about its unique mudbrick architecture. We’ll then cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, stopping at scenic viewpoints along the way. By evening, we’ll arrive in Marrakech, where we’ll have dinner and stay overnight in a traditional riad.

Day 9: Marrakech Guided Tour

Today, we’ll explore the vibrant city of Marrakech with a local guide. We’ll visit the Koutoubia Mosque, Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, and the serene Majorelle Garden. Together, we’ll wander through the bustling Medina and experience the lively energy of Jemaa el-Fnaa Square, filled with performers, food stalls, and artisans. Dinner and overnight stay in Marrakech.

Day 10: Marrakech – Casablanca

On our final day, we’ll depart for Casablanca, where we’ll visit the impressive Hassan II Mosque and stroll along the Corniche. You’ll have free time to shop or relax before we conclude our journey. Overnight in Casablanca.
